Tom Beaty is an entrepreneur and is the founder of Atlanta-based procurement consulting firm, Insight Sourcing Group and the SaaS-based technology firm, SpendHQ. Tom started the non-profit Witness to War Foundation in 2001.

Tom is a native of Charlotte, NC and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Military History. He received an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Tom is a member of the Young President’s Organization and the Atlanta World War II Roundtable. In 2018, Tom was named to the board of the Army War College Foundation in Carlisle, PA.
Emily is an Atlanta native and a 2006 graduate of The University of Tennessee with a BSBA degree in Marketing.
Her grandfather was a WWII & Korean War veteran and is featured on the site (Tank Commander Andy Carpenter). Emily originally assisted with interviewing and website content selection prior to moving into the Director position. Today, she is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Foundation, which includes partnership & media contacts and website management, along with conducting veteran interviews. She has been working with the foundation since 2006. Emily lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children.
Martin Madert is a 2011 graduate of Georgia State University where he received bachelors’ degrees in History and Film.
He is responsible for performing interviews with veterans across the country, including reunions, and distributing content to interviewees and their families. He has conducted hundreds of interviews with veterans of all wars.
Jon grew up in a military family and has lived up and down the East coast. After graduating from Georgia Tech in 2005, he was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the US Army and attended the Infantry Officer's Basic Course and Ranger School. Jon served for three and a half years with the 173rd Airborne Brigade based out of Vicenza, Italy, deploying twice to Afghanistan where he led platoon and company size elements in combat.
After leaving the active duty military in 2009, Jon received his MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University and MPA from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is located in Atlanta and has volunteered with the Witness to War Foundation since 2010.
Tim is the Co-Founder & President of Atlanta-based Advocate, a telecommunications consulting firm. As a dedicated volunteer, Tim conducts interviews for the Foundation in and around the Charleston, SC area. Tim holds a juris doctorate from the University of South Carolina Law School and a degree in Finance from USC.
