COMBAT STORIES FROM World War II

Ken Faulkner | C Company, 137th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division - Army

5:40   |   Out of Kansas came Ken Faulkner, drafted into the Army and sent to the Louisiana Maneuvers after his basic training. He had a deathly fear of snakes and that was troublesome in the swamps of the bayou. Some of the men procured hammocks to get them up off the ground at night and this allowed him to get a good night's sleep. Then came some astounding news from Pearl Harbor.
