When New Jersey boy Arthur Mohor graduated from high school, he wrestled with the two most important issues of his time, the looming war in Europe and the pursuit of ballrooms filled with Big Band dancing.
"Is this a service unit?" New recruit Arthur Mohor was wondering where the train was going but the tall man in the fancy uniform only said, "This is the Army, that's all I'm telling you." "Well, where are we going?" The frightening reply was the beginning of the end of asking questions.
Arthur Mohor's experience as a photographer gave him a good eye looking through the sight of his anti-tank gun. He was made a gunner and his unit went on maneuvers with the mighty 101st Airborne as an opponent. "We were skunked!" Then, at his last training stop, he was able to get in some Big Band dancing before shipping out.
